Hey Paul...you know, I understand McLaren's name is sure to get folks
going, but to say, "As usual, he's a few cards short of a full deck,"
(paraphrased) is a wee bit harsh in the context of Morrison's
post...that's a pretty nasty insult, and seemed uncalled for. That just
gives him a reason to insult you back, and then the whole thing gets
really shitty...we don't need that on the list. If you have a
disagreement with some of his information, no problem...there may be a
better way to express it, though. Actually, McLaren is most likely not
without both good and bad qualities...personally, he has been more than
generous with me over the years in many helpful ways, and has been a
mighty tireless advocate of alt tunings. Sometimes, personal chemistries
don't match up between certain folks...I strive to avoid gnarly
situations, or try and deflect them out of my path...doesn't always
work, but when it does, it saves a lot of wasted energies...Hstick

well . . .

Agreed, BUT -- on the internet you can already find pages of McLaren
insulting me, and not one line of my responses. So essentially I'm up
against a permanent defaming force. Sorry if I get bristly about it.

I applaud McLaren's efforts on behalf of microtonality. I just don't feel
that Loffink's very valuable website deserves to be called "grossly
misleading" over an utterly vacuous difference of opinion.
