Hello, there, and I would like to join in bidding a very warm
farewell to Carl Lumma.

Carl, while I much regret your impending departure, I would like to
take the opportunity to thank you for all of your contributions,
including a discussion of CPS which I was just reading over and found
a very user-friendly first initiation (not to replace Paul Erlich's,
of course, which I want to read also).

What a range of posts and musical interests and erudition you have
shared with us. May I wish you the best in Berkeley, and of course
express the wish of many others also that you might make an appearance
here at some time not too long from now.

In the meantone, as it's all too easy for some of us to type (one test
of "You know that you're intonationally obsessed when..."?), please
enjoy a not too difficult relocation and a fine New Year -- and the
best in 2001.

Most appreciatively,

Margo Schulter

Margo,

Thanks for the message. I'm glad you liked the CPS post. I've
enjoyed so many of your posts I can't begin to name them. You've
introduced me to a whole world of music that I didn't even know
existed. And the recording recommendations at medieval.org are
awesome -- turned me on to Cabezon!

I look forward to hearing some of your work; please let me know
off-list (carl@lumma.org) when you get some of it recorded.
