Where could i start learning about understanding these writings? so far they are just
meaningless numbers to me ... I would prefer to start learning it with very easy things, or
else i'm afraid i couldn't follow it through 'till i understand.

Thanks for any help.
Mango

P.S. I'd like to get a mircotunal synthesizer like the TX817 or the DX7ii sometime.
Do you all know if these synths can do all of these tunings?

Paul Erlich, our "sysop" (just kidding, but it's almost that, yes??)
will probably have something to say to help you... but in the
meantime, you might want to "check out" some of Kyle Gann's websites
for beginners, in particular:

http://home.earthlink.net/~kgann/tuning.html

The ULTIMATE resource for any of this stuff belongs to the John
Starrett site:

http://www-math.cudenver.edu/~jstarret/microtone.html

You can find ANYTHING from there, including Graham Breed's fine
"Tuning for Beginners" site at:

http://x31eq.com/start.htm

Well... that's a start...

Mango,

Hello!

Yes, the TX81Z, TX802 or DX7 will allow this kind of tuning. Do you
live in the US? There are places where you may obtain these synths
through mail order very inexpensively.

You may learn much more about this here:

http://home.att.net/~microtonal/

Here is a link to a website that is a good place to start learning
about microtonality:

http://www-math.cudenver.edu/~jstarret/microtone.html

Best regards,

Jacky Ligon

Mango,

In addition to the 'beginner' sites listed by Joe Pehrson,
if you get stuck on the terminology you'd probably find my
online Dictionary of Tuning Terms helpful:

http://www.ixpres.com/interval/dict/

Bookmark it, because I update it frequently.
