Errors in Scott Wilkinson's Book?

Paul,

You mentioned errors in "Microtonal Tuning in Electronic Music", and
I have been meaning to ask you specifically what you found in error,
as I have recently loaned the book to a guitar teacher that I know,
who has become interested in microtonality (part of my "planting of
seeds" program).

Was it formula, or text mistakes? This may be important to let my
friend know about.

Forever thankful,

Jacky Ligon

A couple of content mistakes, a couple of numerical ones (I seem to remember
the F in Werckmeister was about 25 cents too flat . . . ). It's been a very
long time since I saw that book. Overall, a pleasant introduction, but it
won't give you any sort of grasp of issues with common-practice music for
which I would recommend a few chapters of Blackwood.

Unfortunately, Blackwood seems to be out of print. :-( Is the Wilkinson
book in print?

The Wilkinson book is (just barely) in print. Borders is the only major
on-line bookstore that seems to be shipping it, and when they run out ...

I posted to this List quite a while back specifics of some
important errors that I found in Wilkinson's book. Don't have
the book handy now. Hopefully my posts are in the List Archives,
but it's quite possible that I sent them back in the Mills days,
in which case they'll be quite hard to find now.

When (if?) I return to California and my own PC I'll see if
I can find them and re-post them.
