Well, I tried this recently. During your tenure, in fact. The
resulting files are very large, and probably not worth the space
on the egroups site. I hosted them, in a variety of formats, on
my page for a while, but nobody downloaded them that I could tell.
In fact, the only response I got was a ripping complaint that I
would ever even think of such a thing, even hosted on my own site!
Oh yeah... I'm bitter.

Actually, I do kind of remember something like this some time back.
How many megs are the files?? Maybe it would be possible to set them
up at some "free" site like Tripod, or Yahoo or, even better, start a
NEW egroups just to keep these files there with commentary on them...

How large again?? I'm not quite understanding the "gist" of the
complaints... What could people possibly complain about (aside from
the fact that people are, generally, always complaining??)

I forget -- check the archives at egroups (24 megs uncompressed rings
a bell).

How is that better than my site? Unlike these sites, I'm not selling
anything.

Well then fine, Carl. 24 megs isn't that much nowadays. Why not put
it back up on www.lumma.org??
