Robert: Alas, I find that my browser crashes every time I try to open
your latest dekany pages. I'm using Netscape 4.75 running on a G3 Mac
under OS 8.5.1. I keep getting an unmapped memory exception message. I
have recent versions of QuickTime's virtual reality plug-ins (or think
so). Is anyone else having problems or successes viewing these pages?

Personally, I wasn't able to get the VRML to work at all with
Netscape... I had to use Internet Explorer.... but, then I was using
a PC...

Sorry to hear that!

Did the smaller hexany model work?

I'm asking in case it is something to do with the size of the model, and wondering
if it would help if I divided it into smaller pieces in the VRML file (easy to do).

I've tried opening VRML files in latest version of QT here (on p.c. ) and got message
"Couldn't open the file because it is not a file that QuickTime understands".

So not sure how to test it.

QT have their own VR format, kind of like a panoramic picture view from a single
point, which you can zoom into to see details.

Perhaps also there is a QT VRML plug in - haven't been able to locate it yet if there is.

Anyone help - if I can install it here, maybe I can find out what's happening more easily,
supposing the p.c. version is suff. similar to behave in same way.

I don't know which VRML browsers are best for Macs. However the Cosmo player
is certainly a good one for p.c.s, so one poss. might be to try the Cosmo Player Mac beta
and see how it works.

You could also try the two links at end of my post
http://www.egroups.com/message/tuning/15440

and see if any of the browsers listed as suitable for Macs are any good.

I too would like to know which ones are good for Macs, to know which to recommend
- anyone got any experience of one that works well, and plays audio clips fine?
