Dear friends, acquaintances and e-acquaintances,

sending best wishes and good thoughts to all,

please be aware that the 4th Planet Tree Music Festival begins in London on
November 2nd, running until the Nov 19th.

The festival web site, designed by Tamasin Cole, is at
http://www.planettree.org

I look forward to seeing those of you who can come at one or some of the
events and welcome saying
hello to everybody.

Friends Of The Earth will give 15 minute talks before some events on up to
the minute environmentally sensitive topics, and the World Development
Movement will give presentations on "Keeping Globalisation Under Democratic
Control" at the other evenings.

The festival features the versatile British soprano Sarah Leonard, the
eminent pianist/scholar Jonathan Powell and the innovative British keyboard
sextet Piano Circus.

Composers featured are Kaikhosru Sorabji (1892-1988), the French
pre-minimalist Jean Catoire, Keith Barnard at age 50 and James D'Angelo at
age 60.

Max/MSP composer/performer David Stevens will be performing live sampling
and modification of home made sound sources at 2 events.

Ten events and one 8-hour marathon in 5 venues - music by 24 composers - 24
world premieres - acoustic, electronic and
computer-processed,............scored, improvised, and with
computer-graphics and painting artists in parallel with musicians.

Planet Tree is meditative, multi-medial, innovative, nurturing of
unrecognised composers, and in consort with the voices for ecology, and for
democratic control of globalisation. It dares towards original beauty, and
it dares in general towards more creative experiment, and idealism of
purpose.

Hoping to see you there, and that you will be uplifted,

best wishes

Lawrence
