This is a short theme i wrote while playing Phantasy Star IV,to demonstrate the neutral third scale. The key is C,with the third, fifth, seventh and ninth positive, the sixth and fourth negative-except for bar 17 which contains one chromatic alteration of the seventh.

While i used a lot of quasi-diatonic harmonies in it-using the similarities between this 7-note scale and the diatonic scale-there are definitely proof of some unique potential of the scale.I especially like the way the chord in bar 15 falls just between the traditional conceptions of what would be Bb major and G7/B,with the distinctively neutral leading tone.

I would like to be able to develop a more distinctively neutral-third based conception of harmonic resolutions and progressions, using smooth modulation to other keys and scales(in"jazz style").Currently lack of equipment prevents me from doing that, although i have a plan for a keyboard design built out of regular black and white keys:

| ** ** | ** ** ** | ** ** | ** ** | ** ** ** |
| ** ** | ** ** ** | ** ** | ** ** | ** ** ** |
| | | | | |

This will not be the last piece i will post using this scale.Comments are very appreciated!
