dinky web app issues

Thanks those of you who tried my web thangy.

Y'all ended up being unwitting beta-testers:
as I suspected, there were various problems with it, so I'm officially
"closing" it for the moment; I'll let you know when
it's back up, hopefully with all of the bugs fixed. (in a few days)
