Paul!
I have to admit i haven't studied it enough and at the moment I am attempting to find
the answer to 324 problems I have taken on in a different direction. It will point out a
couple of interesting things (of which there are more)
1. it shows the mediant generated by attributed by Ghyka (The Geometry of Art and Nature-Dover
1977) to the neo-pythagorian school.
2. it shows how the ratios between terms of the tree are superparticular ratios
3. it shows an application of the tree to just a tetrachord and possible ways of subdividing
it.
4. As you know much of Erv's work stems from Mt. Meru (pascal's Triangle) here he show how the
two are analogous and produce the same series.
the rest i leave for another time!
