Hi all , again

I must correct " Equal non-superparticular divisions of non-octave" to " Equal divisions of rational non-octave"

Hi all

I heard scots musics:

"Saturn Rising in the Early Morning on Titan" in 14th root of 12:7 and "VocationOfTheCracklingEmbers" <http://www.nonoctave.com/tunes/VocationOfTheCracklingEmbers.mp3> in 10th root of 3/2 ,they are very very beautiful.

I'm working on a sketch for scale and system classification . Scot's nonoctavic idea about (n-th root ob a/b) is the same as my Equal non-superparticular divisions of non-octave , indeed the main idea is of him.

As 12/7 is rational version of 14th degree of 18-EDO , so his nonoctavic scale is a part of 18-EDO with 12/7 as interval of equivalency.

Like 10th root of 3/2 and 17-EDO.

Please go to http://240edo.tripod.com/my_music.html to hear my musics , comments welcome.

I have also an nonoctavic music there in a different system which is defined in http://240edo.tripod.com/arithmetic_irrational_divisions.html :

* Irrationalpiano <http://240edo.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/irrationalpiano.mp3> , A music in 12-AID(1400.) with a1=90 cent :

0: 0.000

1: 90.000

1: 184.848

3: 284.545

4: 389.091

5: 498.485

6: 612.727

7: 731.818

8: 855.758

9: 984.545

10: 1118.182

11: 1256.667

12: 1400.000

Greetings Mohajeri,

It's great to hear from you. Thanks for the kind words
and I'm excited you're exploring these classes of
nonoctave tunings! There's just an infinite number of
possibilities in there and it's wide open for
exploration with few visitors.

The irrational piano piece is very nice.

I recently listened to your Setar improvisations in
96tET and was amazed at your skills and the subtlety
and power of the performance. Wow!

Hope you don't mind if I put the link here:

The "For Margo" piece you wrote for Margo Schulter is
one of the most exciting pieces of microtonal music
I've heard. All of these are uniquely Persian works.
Congratulations.

I've been reading Hormoz Farhat's 1965 thesis he wrote
when he studied under Mantle Hood at UCLA, "The
Dastgah Concept in Persian Music". I thought of you
when he gives thanks in the acknowledgments to Ostad
Ahmad Ebadi. I was wondering if that is the same Ebadi
who you know, or perhaps a relative.

I'm glad you shared some of your music. I always look
forward to hearing your work. I hope you are doing
well.
