Perhaps one man's rant is another man's pep talk? Actually, Jon, as a noun,
rant need only be declamatory...as in a pep talk. Hell, Harry ranted all the
time.

BTW, what do you think of the suggestion in Enclosures 3 that Partch had
undiagnosed syphilis since the late '40s and it was this that made for his
cantankerousness?
