Hi, guys. Controversy, anyone?

Just kidding. I've been reading along since Joe Pehrson directed me
to
the group, and just subscribed. Can't follow the more esoteric math,
but I enjoy fraction talk, and have appreciated the occasional
reference to my Tuning pages (home.earthlink.net/~kgann/tuning.html).
Carry on.

Yours,

Kyle Gann

Welcome aboard, Kyle! We're having a lot of "weird fun" over here,
and I am certain you will contribute greatly to the discussion. It
will be nice to have somebody who can write a complete English
sentence once in a while. :) [JOKE]

It's true we also don't shy away from controversy... I wish
Harrington would come over here too... he's known for his e-mail
"bonzo" approach...

I was intrigued by your comment that you feel the traditional 12-tET
system is exhausted. I feel similarly, and that's why I'm over here.
After a rather tedious period of "neo romanticism"... well, actually
not so tedious, you can judge for yourself at:

I have felt that I need the new resources. There are some brilliant
people on this list -- daaa whaaa?? and it's moving more and more in
the direction of AUDIBLE experiments and pieces...

Best,

Hi Kyle! Welcome to the Tuning List!

I know for a fact that you enjoy lattice-diagrams ;-),
so rest assured that much of the 'esoteric math' around here
gets converted into them, by the likes of Dan Stearns, Paul
Erlich, myself and others.

And regarding controversy: this particular List is only a bit
quiet at the moment. There have been times where the flames
here burned far higher than those I see now over at AMC.
