re: the idea for an HTML tuning list.

The thought of 8 bit wav files is hideous...here's a work around, MP3
files and converters. Also there's a program called tuning wrtench
which is available at Charles Lucy's site, if you email him and ask
nicely, which alows the microtuning of your soundcard to play microtonal
music from mid files. You can even program it to any tuning you want.

Any good.

You're certainly correct that 8-bit audio isn't desirable, but since
WAV-file players are built into Netscape and Explorer, and real-audio would
cost tuning-listers money, I'm not sure how many people would go for it.
Waddaya folks think?
