Temperament MP3s

Because I've never found a webpage that offers music fragments in
different temperaments for listening, I decided to make one and
browsed my music collection for suitable examples. I copied fragments
of about 30 seconds to MP3-files. That's about the minimum to leave
some impression of the sound. Hearing a fragment more than once may
be recommendable. The instruments are harpsichord and organ.
The page is at
http://www.xs4all.nl/~huygensf/english/temperament.html
It's still in need of further editing but I'd appreciate critical
comments or tips for additional music fragments.
The link to Salinas is also a new modest webpage. I made it because of
the statue which I saw in Spain during the holiday.

Only because Manuel asked for it am I making the following comment:
The page is very, very interesting, but I wish the mp3's were
"streaming"... I had the same problem before I put my own mp3
experiments upon the mp3.com site where they do the streaming for
me... Is it possible to stream them?? Thanks for posting these
interesting files.

Manuel,

Hello.

There seems to be some problem with the "1/6-comma meantone variant
Ch. Gibbons: organ" mp3 file. I was able to download all of them
except for this one - perhaps I'll try again later.

Good Day!

Froberger rocks! My good friend and X-landlord has studied with Parmentier,
and I had the fortune to hear P. play the entire "96" (both books of the
WTC) in his own hand-spung WT, live, right down the street from The Musical
Offering at the Berkeley early music festival in '98. I have his Scarlatti
recording, and I would highly recommend any of his stuff.
