A refretted guitar is one easy way to go, especially if you already play guitar, since, for some tunings like 19, 22, 24, 31 there are familiar patterns right under your fingers with just a little mental and finger adjustment. Another way to go is a microtunable synth. You can start by trying just and mean tone octave tunings, and again, you will be able to play familiar patterns while exploring a
new tonality. I used to play trombone, which is a great microtonal instrument. Another good thing to do is get a cello and play different pitches against an open string drone.
