Well, I guess everybody has seen and memorized this chart except me,
but, frankly, I forgot where to find it. Well, now it's right HERE
at
www.egroups.com

http://www.egroups.com/files/tuning/figure11.gif

It shows all the equal temperaments up to 34 and the JI "accuracies"
in percentages for sonorities up to the 15th limit.

Of course 12-tET is right out in front for the smaller-numbered
ET's... not too surprising. See, it WAS pretty good after all!...

And, naturally, we find our favorites, 19-tET, 22-tET and seemingly
best of all for EVERYTHING 31-tET.

What surprised me, though, was the satisfactory results for 26, 27
and
29. Have many people discussed these temperaments?? What am I
missing??

THANKS!!!!!!!

26 can be though of as a meantone even closer to 7-equal than 19tet,but it also gives a near perfect 7th harmonic.29 is the lowest ET to have a better fifth than 12tet,it has two major thirds who both are quite a bit from just.I have used 29tet for several yet unfinsihed compositions, mostly using it as a positive meantone.
