Paul Erlich:

Thanks for the comments and suggestions on my G13#11 MIDI file at
http://www.egroups.com/files/tuning/monz/

I'm afraid that my head is too far into ancient Sumer right
now, to be able to do any jazz MIDI files more extensive than
this one. But note that I *did* say that this was only one
possible rational interpretation, the one that provided the
'simplest-integer harmonic fit'.

Sorry about the filename causing a bum link... I had no problem
downloading it from the folder above, and it played all three
timbres the way it's supposed to. ...? Don't know why you had
trouble with it.

Please post your analyses of this chord to your egroups folder.
I'd love to see the graphs that go along with your explanations
of the various rationaliztions of a complex chord like this.

I'm extremely interested in the work you are doing (and will
be doing with John deL) on harmonic entropy!

Yes, I too want to be sure to have my very own 'total diadic
harmonic entropy minimizer'!...

------

Patrick Mullen:

I'm also very interested in your method of Excel/Csound composing
- I'm not even a beginner at Csound yet, but use Excel extensively
for my tuning calculations.

Please create a folder at egroups and post the files there!

Joe Pehrson:

I, too, am glad to see that folks are joining in and posting graphics
and music files to the egroups site, so that those of us with web
access can explore the discussions more fully. It's about time!
And I too am about to cancel my email subscription to the List,
because I'm now accessing it completely thru the web, while the
digests are 'just' piling up in my mailbox.

And note, fellow posters, that we've only just begun, and we're
already using up 10 percent of our filespace at egroups! We'd
better hurry up and lobby for a lot more!!

Hi Monz...

Well, now with the Web access one really doesn't have to
"unsubscribe" by e-mail... you just change your settings on the
Website... to get digest, read only on Web, or get individual
e-mails.
(Who would want THAT anymore!) You can go back and forth as many
times as you wantto change the settings...

I sympathize with Mr. ffitch's comments... whom I recognize as a
CSOUND expert. Before I started paying for "unlimited Web" I had
similar problems. I can also understand the problems in places like
Hungary. Well.. it could be worse, there aren't even PHONE lines in
Africa...

HOWEVER, the problem is, for many of us who DO have access... there
are now MANY LINKS, not only to files on the egroups site, but all
over the place on people's websites. I find I can't really get that
much out of the Tuning List anymore without following the Web links
right as I do the reading. That makes it almost imperative for me to
be "on line" while reading....

I'm not certain how one can get more Webspace at e-groups-- or even
if it is possible. Anybody know? Actually, there are lots of places
now where we could LINK to free web space. Although it was not
terribly reliable, the site I had at Tripod had 50 megs of free
space... and I believe similar arrangements can be made through Yahoo
and other places now. (As long as you can stand the advertising
banners on the top).
