Pythagoras myth

Practically everything about Pythagoras is a myth. The gentleman did not
write anything down and was construed toward whatever political reason was
thought necessary. If we use the name of Pythagoras it is because this is
the name used for an unusual length of time.

An excellent essay has just been written about Pythagoras and myths by Sieman
Terpstra. Siem told me it was the least enjoyment he ever had writing,
because so little said about Pythagoras could be true.

Also, prime number time divisions are the basis for the Pulse of the Cosmos
of the "Universe Symphony" by Charles Ives. 16 second basic units of time
are split into equal numbers emphasizing primes and going up to 43 divisions
of the basic unit.

Which is different than saying Pythaagoras is a myth. And it's
different than saying there was not a Pythagorean school, or
Pythagorean thought.

Neither did Christ. So?

I think you mean philosophical rathar than political. But then
again, the two were so closely tied in the ancient mind.

If you are looking to "ID" one man, then yes; but his legacy; that's
something else.
