If you mean scales whose harmonies approximate ratios of odd numbers, then
that makes some sense because the resulting timbres will have odd partials
only. But I've found that even with such timbres, I don't seem to hear
octave equivalence giving way to tritave equivalence, equivalence at the
5:1, or anything else.
