Hello. I remember, from the last time I read anything relevant to vowel
research, that a vowel is characterized by its formant, i.e. an envelope
that approximates the spectrum for a wide range of fundamental frequencies.

(To balance the above remark, I agree 100% with you on Einstein and
the expanding kosmos.)
