Wow... you know there must've been about a dozen similarly feisty and
zesty one-liners in this post that also had this sort of heartwarming,
marshal up the troops kind of panache... made my day!

22-tet might give it some unique qualities for "neo-Gothic"
applications, the "7-limit inconsistency" of 17-tet is not a problem

One thing that might be interesting to note here is that if 17 is set
so that the fifth is just -- i.e., ~17.095-tET -- the max error at the
octave is only ~6.7, and if you were to call this margin of error
something close to naturally occurring tuning errors, it should follow
that you could also conceivably see 17 as consistent all the way
through the 15-odd limit (though according to the integer consistency
measure as I understand it, an actual ~17.095-tET would be consistent
through seven).

> Since 17-tet is charming, and the extra "unusual" or "neutral"
intervals can have an alluring and mysterious air when I want to mix
them with the usual medieval ones,

Margo, is any of your 17-tET, "Neo-Gothic" music available anywhere?
You've certainly piqued my interest.

thanks,
Dan
