Stellation again

Carl: My formula gave 92 tones for the stellated 20-any and I proposed
adding 2 more to get 94, not 96. Also, the stellated 70-any appears to
have 590 tones, IIRC.

I had to write Erv about another matter, so I put the question to him
yesterday. Will report his reply.

I have tried to use his conception of stellation, not my own. Erv is
extremely conscious of structure and relations, so I imagine he quickly
saw that adding 12 more tones to the first level stellation of the
20-any produced a more symmetrical, connected, and efficient structure.

Those two extras would ruin the symmetry, though, which I'm sure Erv
values highly.

. . . which brought one right up to the interfaces of all other 20-
anies . . .

Pau El: yes, but I thought the other hexanies might be better scales to
start with.

I also came across Pierre Plamothe's first web page (asymetrie) and had
emailed him, but so far I have gotten no answer, but my ISP was down all
day Monday and some mail bounced.

I established a communication with Pierre. Unfortunately it is in
French, in which I supposedly acheived "proficiency" after three
semesters in 1990-91, but I've certainly have forgotten much since
then. Anyone whose French is better and is interested in helping,
please let me know.
