I know that; why aren't the files Joseph was talking about, erl.kbm and
two22.kbm, not in the scale archive, if they are, as he says, in the latest
version of Scala?

Because the scale archive only contains scales, no keyboard mappings.
The latter are bundled with the program, together with other files
like interval and mode names, command files, etc.
