AFMM Concerts in May 2013

This is just an announcement of the upcoming NYC performance of the American Festival of Microtonal Music.
All concerts are at Spectrum, located at 121 Ludlow Street, at 7 P.M.

Opening Night, Friday, May 17th is based on the Tonight Show. As "Johnny" I get to do a monologue (with a Theremin), hand with my "Ed" Joshua Pierce, have a kickin' band, and interview some of the greater luminaries in contemporary microtonal music. Guests include:
Toby Twining, Jon Catler, Mary Jane Leach, John Eaton, Rob Schwimmer, Anastasia Solberg, and Skip La Plante. Complete with a "Buddy Rich" hommage to Rashied Ali, and more.

Sunday, May 19th features my new composition in 128 tuning, Trees for bassoon, violin, viola, cello, and double bass, and compositions by Jurica Jelic, Harry Partch ("A Dream"), Cristian Amgo, Mary Jane Leach, and the premiere of Jon Catler's "Acension" in extended just.

Friday, May 24th features more Jurica Jelic, Peter Thoegerson, Igor Stravinsky (in 128), Migel Fraconi (glass), Svjetlana Bukvich, and the NY premiere of John Eaton's "3 Designs For Solo Clarinet" played by David Keberle. Plus my new work, Forest, for 2 violins, 2 double basses, 2 bassoons, synthesizer, glass, and clarinet, in 128 tuning (8th ovtave overtone tuning).

tix at the door are $20/$12
