I have recently completed a website, http://www.elyrialights.com . It is
a presentation of one of my most recent projects, "Elyria Lights," A cd of
music, all in 22tet, about a region in northern Ohio. There are a lot of
samples of the music on the page, plus many b side takes and a few movies.

In composing the music for "Elyria Lights," I used 8 note scales, chosen
from the 22 chromas available. I've found that some of the most
interesting 22tet intervals involve the mixture of 3 and 1 steps with more
12tet sounding intervals such as 7 and 9. Example:

The sunlight sets: 0 4 5 9 12 13 18 19
note : 4 9 12 13
4 to 13 is a regular sounding "fourth" (in 12tet speak), but notice the
9 to 12 interval taking up three steps. 4 to 9 is also a somewhat
regular sounding "third".

I'll write more about the process in a coming paper for my electronic
music class here at Oberlin.
