Microtonal Score Roundup

Somebody on the Csound list said that MusicXML is a better
format for microtonal music than MIDI. I decided to find
out what the microtonal support is. Somewhere down the
search results, I found a tuning list conversation
including me. But there was also this:

http://lists.common-lisp.net/pipermail/gsharp-devel/2007-June/000357.html

In short: eighth-tones, with fine tuning. But who knows
how widely implemented?

What's this gsharp, I then thought? Here's the home page:

I don't know if it's of any use relative to the things I
already know about.

The hottest free score editor now is MuseScore, and here's
its microtuning project:

http://musescore.org/en/project/microtune

It looks promising for those who want to do some
programming.

Sweet, I was just about to start fooling around with Rosegarden (using "scordablature"), but now I'm going to check this out instead.

"sudo apt-get install musescore"

I don't think anything came of either of them.

I seem to remember Aaron Hunt did finalize something, but I
can't find it just now. IIRC though, it was more of a .tun
replacement than a score format. -Carl
