Dear Friends,

There is a new APP for IPAD that does micro-tuning. It is called
WorldScales.

Very nice! Please, feel free to post as many microtonal apps here as possible.

This is a really great app - thanks for making it!

For a long time I couldn't find a straightforward app on
any platform that allows realtime retuning of pitches in a
chord. This does it! Great for intonation experiments.

I have two criticisms. First, the retuning pots (controls)
are a bit hard to use. Second, I couldn't find a good clean
patch other than the sine synth. The piano, in particular,
seems to do some kind of note doubling (?) automatically.
And the sine is a bit *too* clean.

Suggestions: To improve the controls,
It would be nice to have a 'snap to 5 cents' mode where
the pots would move in 5-cent increments instead of 1-cent
increments. The bends could still be smooth, but they
would automatically stop at the nearest multiple of 5.
It might also be nice if the pots could be adjusted by a
straight vertical motion (swipe) rather than having to turn
the finger through an arc. (They could still display as an
arc, just the control motion could be changed...)

For a clean patch, perhaps a nice triangle wave could be
added to the synth section.

Thanks again!

-Carl

Carl,

Thanks for your comments.

I will add more analog sounds (Tri) to the app in the next update. The snap to a nearest cent is a good feature request and will pass it on to the developer for a future consideration.

The Piano sound has been sampled as doubling octave by me.

This is the first release of this app and we will add many new features in the next release.
