Does anyone know if heptadec is the current name of a
linear temperament, or if it has been superceded?

I don't know that there are any attempts to keep a canonical list of 11-
limit temperaments other than mine, for what mine is worth. I have this
listed as heptadec:

<<5 3 7 4 -7 -3 -11 8 -1 -13||
Commas: 36/35, 56/55, 77/75
poptimal generator: 2/17

George and Hermann may want to take another look. The 17-et val for it
is <17 27 40 48 59|, which involves trying to use 423.529 as a major
third, which of course it isn't. But people who like sharp fifths and
very sharp thirds, (and you know you're out there) might love it.

Thanks. You've got the best list I know of. Is it on your web site
somewhere?

I only ask because I have this in my notes as something that was
recommended to me...

!
heptadec[9]

141.16
282.32
423.48
564.64
705.80
846.96
988.12
1129.28

...but I'm not sure why.

Sorry, no. What I have is pretty sketchy in terms of names, and we
never really agreed how this name thing should work.
