What is your verdict on the 0, 240, 480, 720, 960 cent pentad?

I'd like to hear peoples verdict on the 0, 240, 480, 720, 960 cent
pentad. It lies on the border of consonance and dissonance and
squeezes 5 notes into an octave. It may be the only chord more
correct in equal temperament than in just intonation.

It's a useful chord to have around in any equal temperament divisible
by five, such as 15, 25, 50, 55, or 80. Since 50 and 55 are both good
meantone systems, you can even smuggle it into meantone (in different
spellings.) It would allow for exotic modulation into very remote keys
in a generally common-practice/meantone style, a fact I very much
dount anyone has ever taken advantage of. However, I wouldn't say
similar JI chords in other tunings or JI are no good. Stacking one 9/8
, two 8/7s and two 7/6s leads to an octave, for starters.
12:14:16:18:21 for example can be either a pentatonic scale or a chord.

If anyone wants to try this meantone idea, 30 steps of 50-et or 33 of
55-et is a 49/32.

What, you mean all at once? Sounds pretty muddy all at once, but it
depends on the context I guess.

The scale, however, is great, especially if you squeeze the octaves
and make it more like 0, 239, 478, 717, 956, 1195. It's very similar
to the Slendro scale used in Balinese and Javanese gamelan.
