If we have an r2 temperament, with n a division giving a poptimal
tuning, we might find it useful to compute the standard n val for the
temperament. For instance, suppose for some reason we want to analyze
gawel (19&55). We find it has 7 and 9 limit poptimal generators
involving the 74 and 93 divisions. However, it is interesting to find
the actual gawel poptimal vals. For 74, we get <74 117 172 207|. This
is not the 74 meantone val, which is the standard val <74 117 172
208|. The
93 division is not the contorted three times 31, which is the standard
val, but is <93 147 216 260|. In both cases these are not even
semistandard, 74 and 93 being solo in the 7-limit. But they are what
we want to use for gawel, temping out 686/675.
