The new improved Yahoo's interface (was Re: A 13-limit holey scale)

Hi monz and Gene,

The msn groups present the same bizarre behaviour;
trouble is, they aren't consistent about it, and the
"Previous" and "Next" files and pictures are indeed,
the older and the newer ones, as you might expect.

Yes, it's a pain not to be able to GOTO a particular
message.

Perhaps we can address this problem best by developing
our wiki, so that we can always search for the relevant
phrases?

After all, a natural language search is better than one
for an arbitrary sequential identifier ... which is why
smart programmers dispensed with the GOTO in COBOL
a few decades ago.

Regards,
Yahya

as i just wrote to Yahoo:

one of my free email providers has this setup, and it's
always bugged me. and now i'm very unhappy to see it on
the Yahoo groups.

That bugs me, yes. Especially the first time, when I went the wrong way.
I am more bothered by the lack of an index of postings showing as many
as formerly, and find the new look itself somewhat distracting. I
liked the feature where you could put in a message number and get it;
presumably it has been removed as redundent.
