A few days ago I wrote this and I don't think I was very clear:

>Green Machine
>Ben Neill
>Astralwerks ASW 6159-2
>
>Ben Neill uses his MIDI muta-trumpet to create a
>JI ambient that reflects current underground
>musical trends. I don't have a problem with
>that since I happen to like that as much as I
>like Partch, LaMonte Young, Pierre Boulez,
>John Cage, Brian Eno or Richie Blackmore.

I think what I wanted to say was that I like what Neill (Ben) has
done here. His compositional style fit right in with the ambient
movement.

In fact he wrote in the Ambient email list in Nov. '95,
in response to a thread about 4/4 grooves:

>From: bneill@interport.net (Ben Neill)
>Date: Thu, 9 Nov 1995 11:26:37 -0500
>Subject: Re: Ambient-Digest V2 #83
>
>My "Green Machine" record on Astralwerks avoids 4/4 altogether; the
>rhythmic parts are all in 6/4. The whole record is based on the harmonic
>ratios 6/7/8/9, therefore 6 is the fundamental rhythmic element throughout,
>and the 7, 8 and 9 are used as subdivisions of the 6.
>
>BN

And that's a better description then I could ever give.

Sorry for any confusion on my part.

I will go back to my room now.
