In the mood?

Do you suppose that someday music will be recognized and classified for its
intonation...as we might today refer to a piece as being in a "mode" like
Dorian or Major? I really believe in Ivor's notion about "mood" and
temperament. Any thoughts?

Manuel sez:

For whatever it's worth, I would imagine that a perhaps more interesting
criterion would be ETs with fifths off by no more than, say, 1/6 of their ET
step size. That would, in essence, measure their efficiency at nailing a fifth
beyond brute-force by sheer number of notes per octave.

Anybody care to give that a whirl? I'll guess that the list is fairly
similar for the most part.

Gary has a point. No real reason to exclude the other ETs. So I've
replaced the old list with one of all ETs from 5 to 31.
The file modes5-9.zip became twice as large and is now 168 Kb.
