Insignificance

For the record -- Egyptian music is very dear to me: all kinds, and of
course, significant. Shame on you Wolf for implying otherwise.

My philosophy of music has remained unchanged regarding previous
statements and I live my philosophy. It is okay to disagree with me.
This in itself, however, does not indicate rightness or wrongness on an
issue.

One last attempt to explain my non-acceptance of the microtone as _only_ a
discreet interval smaller than a semitone: perhaps it is the
reticence I have for doing mathematical calculations to provide
"microtone" remainders. Same problem I have with Ben Johnston's notation.
It's not that it is theoretically unsound. It is merely old fashioned to
my mind.

Paul Rappoport reminded me of a complication, an obvious one in
hindsight: Those of you who are not from the US would have a rather nasty
time getting a hold of US postage!

Tellya what: How about if you folks enclose instead approximately $1.24
worth of money (cash) from your country? I may exchange it or not; I
confess that I have a (strange?) curiosity about money of various
countries. I guess I see it as a little glimpse of one piece of day-to-day
life in that country. But you US tuning listers please just send me a
SASE. Thanks.

By the way, I welcome any of the rest of you who have DAT decks to help
out in filling tape-copy orders. I can copy the DAT master for you. Lemme
know if you're interested. Thanks.

Gag! I guess it wasn't very bright of me to announce that I'm going on
vacation in the same paragraph as my home address! So please don't spread
that information around too far.

But actually I'm probably pretty well covered. My girlfriend expressed
delight to get away from the house she rents with her mom! So the house
will still be occupied most of the time.
