22tet and 24tet

After testing 22tet and 24tet on a spreadsheet application, I must ask why
22tet is better at imitating 11 limit ratios. 24tet imitates 11/6, 18/11,
16/11, 11/8, 11/9, and 12/11 almost perfectly, while 22tet
imitates 20/11, 11/10, 9/7, and 14/9, while still giving good
approximations of 11/8 and 7/6. This could be said to be an almost equal
proportion of imitations, although 24tet has a remarkable amount of
well-hit 11 limits. I think 24tet is good also because of its nice
approximation of 4/3 and 3/2, which make for nice tetrachords. But there
is obviously a great following of 22tet, and I would love to understand
why. Obviously there are greater reasons than I have just comprehended.
Thank you very much, and I would love to receive old copies of this
discussion, if it would teach me something.
