What it means to be a muslim

Brother Mohajeri,

Although I do not appreciate the Khomeini regime in Iran or other so-called Shariah states around the world usurping power in the name of muslims everywhere, I nevertheless know that the Quran is the ultimate guideline for a muslim. The Sunnah of our prophet is valid to a certain degree as well. We are afterall commanded by Allah to fight in the name of our Creator to free the oppressed and persecuted. We are required to obeisance and the observance of the divine laws. We may not defer to the judgment of any faction but the muslim ummah. Yes, there is much controversy as to what this ummah is, and who represents it. The dichotomy between the clergy and innate Islamic democracy is disconcerting to say the least. Yet, we may not lead a life where we end up serving the moral requirements of a non-Islamic entity. Even if you live abroad, you would do well to resist the incursions of `ethics` propounded by infidel societies.

It is not possible to render Allah Almighty weak in the heavens or the earth. His Will works in such ways that we are not able to comprehend fully His intent. However, I do correlate earthquakes and tornados with divine retribution. For the believers, it is a trial, to let us see for ourselves whether we are hypocrites or true believers, whether we can endure hardships due to our faults or not. For the disbelievers it is a stern warning and a sign from their Lord. The one whose heart Allah favors to faith shall believe, the rebellious will reject and increase in their disbelief. It is all written in the Holy Quran, word for word.

Allah is Compassionate, Merciful. Yet, He is also Mighty, Stern in punishment. Allah is the embodiment of the the most virtuosic attributes. He is a God against Whom none can lift a finger without His leave.

Cordially,
Ozan

dear ozan
at least , i , as a muslem , don't believe in most of the things we
have in it. we know , in iran , because of the nature of islam , it
is very affected by superstitions and human benefits , as aresult.
i and most fair iranian muslems don't believe in bloody sword of god.
you know that all the natural events are becauese of the natural
processes in the world.
although , i belive in worlds with different dimentions which we also
belong to them , but the equation is not very simple to think that if
here murder is much so earthquake is our first punishment !
yes , we have them in our religious text and history but as i told
you it is very difficult for me to accept them as punishment of a
very kind god.

such a god that cannot guide his people to righteousness by no other way
than threats, torture, war and subjecting them to suffering is a god that
i will refuse to enter his heaven , even if he asked.
