I forgot to mention that those houses that were damaged here in L.A. (Glassell Park) are about 600 yards from where i am . I am on the same slope, but on a different side. It was funny to see my neighborhood in the N.Y.Times on last thursday which my neighbor showed me last night and we were able to spot our own houses in the arial photo. . Out side of flooding in my basement, things here are OK so far. The water table is extremely high here already with the main bottled water company having a well a mile from here. Lots of undergroound springs

Dang, Kraig - hang in there! It has been a really extraordinary year
out here. I'm hoping that the upside to the rains is that they give a
big boost to the burn areas coming back as good habitats to wildlife.

Looks like you don't live all that far from David Johnson - I have to
confess I though about his wild hillside residence during all this...

Cheers,
Jon

i inadvertently had dinner with him the other night as we both hit a local restaurant at the same time.
I know him from when i studied with Drummond as he was the main percussionist he used. Also Erin's teacher from cal Arts.
Small world , i assume you know him through schneider?

Yep. I knew David through reputation, and then I had a student that
studied with him at Cal Arts. Then I went and rehearsed at his house
with John for a Partch thing they did down here in SD.

But the weird thing is that you 'studied' with Drummond. These
connections are getting scary! Believe it or not, it appears I will
make a trip East to see the production of "Oedipus" they are doing in
about a month...

Cheers,
Jon

Funny thing at that time he wasn't interested in Mircotonality as he felt he wanted to exhaust 12 first. And then i met Erv and went that direction.

This may very well be a case of "so close, yet so far away": I have to
fly out in the afternoon on the 2nd. Grande bummer.

Cheers,
Jon

Oedipus. Orpheus is the guy in the underwear. About the other stuff, I
better just keep quiet!

Jon
