the always astonishing mars pic of the day

one of my fave sites to stop by everyday is the Malin Space Science System's page:

They built and operate the camera on the Mars Global Surveyor

They have a "Mars Picture of the Day" that is often staggeringly beautiful, both from a scientific as well as an artistic viewpoint. Today's pic is a good example. Make sure you get the pic itself fullsize in your browser window:
