Hey,

I thought I'd share a slice of life with you all.

Taxes anyone? Does anyone else around here get hives this time of year, as I
do? Do you find yourself wondering how you will survive the IRS?

Besides that, my best friend and colleague Andy Hasenpflug, percussionist, and
I are finishing up our demo, 'Divide by Pi' (we actually use the Greek letter
as a symbol in our name, but most of use use ISO-8599 charsets!). The artwork
is in printing stage, and I think today I will hear the audio proofs.
Exciting! My first self-released recording. My brief discography wil now
include this, and Kiltartan Road's 'Cast a Cold Eye', a Yeats-based 'faux
Irish' composition by Joseph Sobol.

Speaking of Irish music, my next pet-programming project (in Python, of
course--a beautiful language) is a Markov-chain statistical exploration and
algorithmic music-making machine which uses pre-existing Irish reels,
represented in a stripped down 'abc' format, as a statistical database.
I plan to call it IRISH -- 'Intelligent Reel Improviser by Statistical
Harvesting'.

Other than that, just trying to survive the rigors of condo ownership in
Chicago on my wife and my mortal salaries!

-Aaron.
