Ok...
Long story sorta short:
this insult to sloths actually had the idiocy to refuse to pay up a
rather large debt owed to me and a clique of my Chinese-Vietnamese, Kurdish,
Italian, Russian and assorted ex-military type fiends (Freudian slippage there, oh
well...)
I had even helped this fruitloop get a frikkin' construction union job so
he could get enough money to pay rent and feed his ugly face & the uglier
faces of his growin' family [time to chlorinate the shallow end of the gene pool,
people] and still pay the Debt. He screws that up. Gets fired for drinkin' &
usin' on the job.
So since me and my fiends had other outstanding accounts in that
neighborhood and our lending partners were impatient as hungry hellwraiths, I took a
direct-action that earned me the nickname _Chino Loco_.
Allasudden, peeps all over the area started paying rent and debts on time
(or some semblance thereof)...and actually liked being my friend - not
totally outta fear mind you, but because they all knew the entire story (and the
biggest spreader of this story is the guy I took a finger from...) ... the
entire story of how I would always try to make it easier for them to pay off these
idiotic slumlord rents and loanshark debts...but won't be a "softie" either -
that I was _hombre duro_, blahblah...

No I don't - I am being pragmatic. Makes more sense to keep a guy alive
and well to pay what he owes.

When I left that line of bizniz, many were scared what future - if any -
held for them... (I left cuz I grew ethically and politically sick of it and
that of my heroin addiction that this line of work both supported and increased)

So in a odd way I was a social worker ;) but more in the trenches -
takin' more risks everyday than most of them bureacratic desk-&-rule-bound
types do their whole entire careers...
