Folks,
Joe Lieberman may be lame, but he (along with John McCain)
introduced a bill to reduce greenhouse gases, the "Climate Stewardship
Act." It didn't pass the first time, but momentum is still up. . . you
can help by taking a brief moment to sign this petition:

Global Warming: Undo It!

** Climate Stewardship Act Update **
- Where Are We Now?
With Congress home for the holidays and Capitol Hill quiet,
Environmental Defense continues to gather world-wide support for
the Climate Stewardship Act, a groundbreaking bill to cap global
warming pollution in the U.S. We are now preparing to turn
October's close 43-55 rejection of the Climate Stewardship Act
into a victory:

- What's Next?
Despite the disappointing loss, this close vote is just the
beginning of Environmental Defense's campaign to pass the
Climate Stewardship Act. Thanks to help from activists like you,
we have the momentum to fight even harder for this bill in 2004.
During the holiday recess, Environmental Defense will work with
the bill's sponsors, environmental groups, other campaign
partners and our hundreds of thousands of supporters on the next
stage of our campaign to Undo Global Warming. In the new year,
we'll be working to reintroduce the Climate Stewardship Act in
the U.S. Senate and introduce a similar bill in the U.S. House
of Representatives. We're hoping for new votes early in the
year.

** In The News - Global Warming Upending Your Ski Season? **
Are you concerned about global warming's impact on your ski
season? A new report from Swiss researchers, released at a
conference sponsored by the International Olympic Committee and
the United Nations, suggests that global warming could shorten
the ski season at some of Europe's best-known ski resorts.
According to the report, a temperature increase of just 3
degrees F could lead to thinner snow packs and shorter, more
unpredictable ski seasons. Read the report online:

The threat has also caught the attention of ski resorts in the
U.S. Working with the National Ski Areas Association, many U.S.
ski resorts came together recently to officially endorse the
McCain-Lieberman Climate Stewardship Act:
