hello all,

i've been hard at work again on more updates:
i've now included info on Schubert (1797-1828)
and the invention of the "record player"
(phonograph, graphophone, and gramophone
-- new info sprinkled between 1877 and 1900).

I Know the Bb piano sonata is considered his best , but i really like the later A minor. True it is simple but so
effective with some very striking harmonies. Nothing else really compares in his sonatas

the Bb sonata is Schubert's last one. i guess by "later"
you meant the last of the three that he wrote in A-minor,
the 16th? (#4 D 537, #14 D 784, and #16 D 845).

in case you guys missed it, gene at one point was arguing the
applicability of 31-equal to the literature well into the 19th
century. i brought up a schubert string quartet, i *think* #15, but
i'm not sure. it has rapidly repeated modulations up a major third,
which would cause diesis drift in 31-equal. do you guys know which
one i mean? the opening chord progression, i believe is I-V-bVII-IV-
bVI . . . , rare in classical music
