Regarding Condoleeza Rice (the 3 of hearts),
it says:

well, that's close but not exactly correct.
"with sweetness" in Italian is "con dolcezza".

i'd bet that Condoleeza's mom simply made up
the name, or that it has its origins in some
other meaning.

i could be wrong and the author of this website
could be right. i once knew an African-American
woman who told everyone her name was "Charisma",
which is a regular old English word.

in actuality, her father named her "Carissima mia",
which was his Italian rendition of "my dearest".
because everyone she knew had trouble with
"Carissima", she just used "Charisma" instead.

Her mother was a music teacher.

" Rice was born Nov. 14, 1954, in Birmingham, Ala.,
the daughter of a college administrator father and music teacher mother..."
