I'm on the opposite coast, dreading going to sleep ~3 hours after you. I've seldom felt so powerless and I've even been much more active this time around. I'll send you an item (off-list) from Ben Cohen and TrueMajority if you haven't already received it, a message that gives a little hope for the future when we try to take back the world from the mess the Cowboy and his pals have made.

Thanks Jon, I signed up with TrueMajority a few months ago, so I got the
letter you mention. I'm just hoping the entire Iraqi army surrenders
immediately and the Iraqi generals take out or capture Saddam, which is what
they should have done long ago. If they had done it even yesterday, the US
ivasion could have been stopped, but now its too late.

Anything that will minimize the carnage would be hoped for. I've got a light burning in the window, no matter what.

And as the only thing that can keep one going at times like these is hope (and what little good news one can muster), I note that the Senate held strong and rejected the Bush regimes plan to drill in the Artic oil fields. Win one for the carabou!
