oumou sangare

Listening to the Oumou Sangare CD my sister gave me for Christmas.
Wow... I can't think of any music of Euro/American origin with a
rhythmic approach anything remotely like this. (Including
any "black" music - jazz, etc.) Funny how rhythmic complexity comes
so natural and organic in Mali but so often sounds forced and
mathematical coming from the "honkies"...

Oumou gets 6 stars out of a possible 5.
