RE: [metatuning] friday's muslim prayers

repellent to be sure, but maybe we should also note the parts that make
perfect sense:

"You all know that the U.S. designs will not be restricted to Iraq," he
said. "Conspiracies are being concocted for other countries with the aim of
striking Islam and Muslims, humiliating them, and subjugating them to the
tyrant will."

On the Voice of Palestine in Ramallah, the official radio station of the
Palestinian Authority, Sheik Muhammad Hussein said the upcoming war "does
not only target Iraq, but also the whole region in a wicked plan to redraw
the map of the region in accordance with the ambitions of the invading
colonialist."

they're not stupid, they know what time it is: why do you think they're so
pissed off?

if you can just do the gedankenexperiment to imagine how the current
behavior of the US looks to the rest of the world, then you will understand
why they are pissed off. the west has been exploiting/manipulating the third
world for centuries, the only thing that is different these days is that
>they< are refusing to be "tranquil victims."

remember the saying "history repeats itself"?

just as Rome fell to the Romans,
just as America tore off the yoke of Britain,
so too will the rest of Earth fight America today ...

the revolution is at hand, and Dubya really got it going.

One "legitimate" gripe is that US infidels are on holy Arabian soil, and they
are a stronger power than the "legitimate" Muslim powers.

It turns out that the Kaaba (the Cube), which Muslims circumambulate while on
their Haj to Mecca, was built about 3000 years before Mohammed. It is
believed that it was built by Ibrahim and his oldest son Ishmael....on the
very foundation as that of Adam. This is the center of all existence for
them.

It is also known to be the site of ancient Goddess Worship.
And the perfect cube inside has been the focus of quite a bit of speculation.

There is a theory that the Hindus had conquered Arabia (as "Allah" is from
the Sanskrit, as are many geographical names). The circumambulation in Mecca
is actually a Hindu custom, and it is not practiced in other Islamic
religious centers, leading to a theory it was built by Hindus. There is
agreement that even during Abraham's lifetime, the Kaaba was filled with
idols of different gods and goddesses.
