Nigerian banking scam

After receiving maybe 30 emails to Hotmail over the past couple of
years from Africa asking me to participate in some "questionable"
money transfers (to *my* great benefit, of course), I finally decided
to search the Internet to find out how this scam operates.

I was surprised to find about the complexity and sophistication of
this scheme, and the number of supposedly intelligent business people
who were taken in.

Apparently some have even lost their *lives* trying to follow up on
their "invested" money, which is asked in "up-front" charges of one
kind or another as the scam progresses.

Well, here is the additional information on this scam process.
Another somewhat surprising fact is that, apparently, some high-
level "real" Nigerian officials are *part* of the scheme! I guess
that's not *too* surprising, but it was still surprising.

In any case, don't travel to Africa to meet with these people in the
course of trying to follow-up on your money! If you want to come
*back* that is... :)
