Cost-effectiveness: the nadir of "civilization"

Good folks -

One side sets a budget of one bullet:

All I can say: is *this* as far as humankind has come? Have we advanced our cultures, our collective intelligence, our deepest ponderings into the worth of man (and woman) as manifested in the peak of either creation or evolution, to this tar pit of non-growth?

Have we really come down to knuckle-dragging, spittle-mouthed, manno-a-manno combat to see who's balls are biggest?

Good heavens, Dante, I didn't think anything could shock you (or anyone else, for that matter) anymore!

But I agree: the mere idea of the Press Secretary to the President of the United States publicly professing how wonderful it would be for someone to put a bullet in the skull of another (if non-democratically elected) head of state... I don't know - I never thought I'd be this embarassed to be an 'American' citizen.
