if you're as interested in the Antikythera Mechanism as i am,
you'll find this very interesting:

... but i sure wish they had the darn x-ray photos available!!
(check back again ... the introduction says it's a work in
progress and hints that the images will eventually be added.)

Hi all,

For those interested in the Antikythera Mechanism,
i just found a terrific site which provides a java applet
that allows you to see changing views of the textured
surface of the mechanism as the direction of light hitting
it changes.

When you click on one of the photos, it will download
the applet and open two smaller windows, one with a
control panel allowing you to change some settings,
and a larger one with the photo image. Drag your mouse
across the photo image to see the changing light pattern.
